The record of monetary transactions for Abraham Lincoln's family and household was kept in what is known as the Lincoln Ledger. This book contains a handwritten account of money earned and spent by the household until 1867, more than two years after the President's death. It is on display in the Chase Bank building in downtown Springfield, just blocks from the Lincoln Home National Historic Site.
