Description:

The Lincoln Tomb State Historic Site holds the memorial and tomb of Abraham Lincoln, as well as that of his wife, Mary, and three of their sons, Edward, William and Thomas. An obelisk rises 117 feet above the ground, mounted over the tomb, which visitors can enter in order to see various statues of the President as well as his burial chamber and a large engraved cenotaph. It is located in the Oak Grove Cemetery on the northern side of town, near the Illinois State Fairgrounds and the Capital Airport.
