Description:

The residence that Abraham Lincoln occupied for 17 years before starting his presidency is the central feature of the Lincoln Home National Historic Site. Starting at the Visitors Center, antique items and a short video give a quick introduction on Lincoln, and travelers can obtain tour tickets in order to see the actual home. A four-block area around the house is preserved as an historical neighborhood, and some buildings contain further exhibits about America's 16th President. The Illinois State Capitol building is visible in the background, just blocks west of the preserved downtown neighborhood.
