This place makes all it's soups from scratch. Their best soups are their cream or cheese based soups (potato, cheese potato, cheese, etc.). They also serve sandwiches and desserts (cheesecakes are their specialty). This place can have quite a line at lunch time but it usually moves pretty fast. They serve their fountain sodas over crushed ice which is another nice touch. Prices are very reasonable. You order at the counter, they bring your food to your table, you pay at the register on your way out. Always good.

This is my favorite place for lunch. When I walk in the door to place my carry out order, the employees already know what I want and have started preparing it. I've found the staff to be very friendly, and the food has always been good. They have, hands down, the BEST homemade cheesecake in town. The blueberry lime is my favorite, but they have a monthly selection that is always worth a try. Unless you're ordering the no-choice special, expect to pay a little more than your normal lunch prices - but it's in a prime location by the Old State Capitol. Walk in, order your food, wait for them to call your number, and pay on the way out. Easy and good!
